Today we had a fantastic session with Naomi discussing Student Design for learning and how that applies to student's DLO creations. 

What I will take away from this session will be exploring how students can use different modes to share their learning. I will explore creating a rubric for students to use when creating their DLO's.

 

Organising My Life!

What jumped out to me this week during the 'Learn' component of today's DFI was the quote "Any teacher who can be replaced by a computer... should be." I thought this was spot on as it's great teaching along with digital affordances that lead to accelerated learning.

I am looking forward to using Toby Mini to help with my workflow. I have already made two collections that will help with my classroom planning! Toby Mini looks like a great solution to having too many tabs open! With an aging Macbook and too many tabs open, the ring of death is inevitable!

With the uncertainty of the implications that Covid-19 could have on schools, learning more about Google Hangouts/Meet today gave me a little more knowledge about options to ensure learning continues.

New Tools!

Today it was great to attend the DFI. I learnt lots of new tips and tricks to manage my workflow better. A great tip for organising my Google Drive was to number the folders so the one I use most often will appear at the top.

Remove.bg is a tool that I was introduced to today. This allows the user to remove the background from images. This will be so beneficial to my learners. They will now be able to create their own PNG images. 

Also there were some wonderful tips for managing learners navigating the google environment. The majority of my students are ok with this, but I have come away with new ideas on how to improve my practice in this area.

I have never really used Google Docs when creating posters. I usually use Google Drawings. Today I learnt some helpful tips on how to create using Docs. Below is a poster I created about some new tips, tricks and tools I learnt about today.
